These terms are the agreement between you and the team behind FinGuessr ("we"), who runs FinGuessr at finguessr.com. By playing you agree to them. Please read them with our privacy page. Last updated 16 October 2026.
Who can play
You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. Do not use the site where the law forbids it.
The games
- FinGuessr is free. There is nothing to buy, no entry fee, no stakes and no prizes. Scores, ranks and streaks only decide your place on the boards. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, swapped or exchanged for anything.
- We may change, pause or stop any game, fix a question, correct or remove a score, or reset a board, for example after a mistake in a question or a cheating attempt.
- The site is offered as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes.
Fair play
You agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or automated tools to play, or try to get the answers before you answer;
- use several accounts to rank more than once, or play on someone else's account;
- get around the bot check, rate limits or any other security measure, or probe or attack the site;
- copy, scrape or republish our questions and puzzles in bulk;
- use the site to break the law or to harm anyone.
Display names
You can choose a display name. It is public: it shows on the leaderboards, on challenge links and on their preview images. You are responsible for it. A name must not:
- be rude, hateful, sexual, threatening or harassing, or insult anyone for who they are;
- pretend to be another person, a company, a brand or us, or claim to speak for them;
- share anyone's personal details, including your own full name or contact details;
- advertise anything, or include a web address, a phone number or a handle;
- break the law or someone else's rights, including content that is obscene, harmful to children, misleading on purpose, infringes a trademark or copyright, or threatens public order or the security of any country.
How we moderate names
- When you save a name, an automatic filter checks it against lists of offensive and reserved words, and refuses it if it matches.
- Any player can report a name from the boards. Once two established players have reported a name, it shows as Player with its number until we review it. A person, not a program, makes every review.
- After review we keep the name, or remove it so you show as Guest. If a name breaks these terms more than once, we may stop you choosing a name, hide you from the boards, or close your account.
- If we remove or hide your name, or limit your account, and we know how to reach you, we tell you what we did, why, which rule or law it was under, and how to challenge it.
- To challenge a decision, email privacy@finguessr.com within six months. A person who did not make the first decision looks at it again and replies. You can also go to court.
Reporting illegal content
The report button on the boards is the quick way to flag a name. To send a formal notice that something on the site is illegal, email privacy@finguessr.com with:
- the name exactly as shown, which board and which day, or the challenge link;
- why you believe it is illegal, and under which law if you know;
- your name and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the notice is accurate and complete.
We confirm we received it, decide without undue delay, and tell you what we decided. We may ignore notices that are clearly unfounded, and we may stop handling notices from someone who often sends them in bad faith.

India. Send grievances to privacy@finguessr.com. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days.
Not investment advice
The games are for fun and learning only. Nothing here is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation or offer to buy, sell or hold anything. We are not a regulated adviser or broker. Company values, prices and other figures are dated, may be rounded or wrong, and change every day: check a current source and talk to a licensed adviser before you decide anything about money. See not investment advice.
Names and content
- The site, the games, the questions and puzzles, the design and the FinGuessr name belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may play, and share your own results and challenge links. Do not copy the rest without asking.
- Company names, tickers and brands in the games belong to their owners. We use them only to say which company a question is about. No company is connected with, sponsors or endorses FinGuessr.
- Your display name stays yours. You let us show it, free and worldwide, on the boards, challenge links and preview images for as long as you use it. Results you already shared may stay in other people's chats.
Our responsibility to you
FinGuessr is a free game. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from relying on a figure or a question on the site, from the site being unavailable, or from losing scores or streaks. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing takes away the rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Ending
You can stop playing at any time and delete your data with Delete my data in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may close the site, telling players ahead of time where we can.
Law and disputes
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the games or the law change. We change the date at the top, and for changes that matter we show a note on the site before they apply. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
